PPR's Tools for Action Summer School will be held on Wednesday 17th and Thursday 18th August from 10-4pm daily in the UNISON offices, Galway House, York Street, Belfast.
Our unique Human Rights Based Approach, has been used in successful campaigns across a broad range of economic and social issues: housing and homelessness, mental health, work, social security, education, urban regeneration and others.
Groups working with us have secured millions of pounds of investment into run-down housing, developed and implemented a new appointment system for people attending A&E in mental health crisis, created ring-fenced jobs and apprenticeships for the long-term unemployed through public procurement projects, won public transport for 120 children attending Irish medium education and carried out the first Equality Impact Assessment on an Urban Regeneration project in Northern Ireland.
As a result, our approach is growing. While we are based in Belfast, we now also support organisations and groups in Scotland and the Republic of Ireland.
Our participatory approach to human rights campaigning has been recognised by the United Nations as a good practice example of how communities can claim their rights.

"This school well surpassed my expectations. I was fascinated by your cases, enjoyed the discussions and learnt more than I have in any other training-not an exaggeration" Stephanie Johnston, Queens University Student
